SHINDUK KANG

Lovely

December 12-December 31, 2019

Seoul

We have curated our favorites from Shinduk’s Still Life 2019 series for this December, 2019.

Lenticular lens adds luminous depth to the still life objects in Shinduk’s work. New colors and forms are simultaneously revealed and hidden as the viewer moves back and forth in front of the prints, like light moving across an ordinary vase of flowers throughout the span of a day. Light, in its subtle transformations of shades and color, is the true subject of the Still Life series.

Shinduk Kang studied sculpture at HongIk University in Seoul, in 1988 she had her ceramic art residency at White Place Studio, Boston USA. She currently works and lives in Seoul.

Kang’s “Still Life Lenticular” and “Growing Stone Sculpture” series are in the Art Bank collection of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea.
