Shinduk Kang (b.1952, Seoul) begins with an abstract idea, a place of memory, and conjures its existence through lenticular and striking sculptural forms that speak to the pursuit of happiness in life. She looks closely at her environment to help dictate the way her materials will execute her sculptural forms. The striking blue surface of her sculptures experiment with the imagination rendering the familiar organic shapes of vegetables in the fabricated form of aluminum.
